HiBi (Bow-Tie) Polarization Maintaining Fibers

HiBi is a singlemode, polarization-maintaining optical fiber designed for high-performance interferometric and polarimetric sensors, integrated optics and coherent communications. The characteristic ‘Bow-Tie’ stress-applying parts, or ‘SAPs’, act like opposing wedges to generate the optimum stress distribution within the fiber. This time-proven design gives the very best in both performance and handling – maximum birefringence, maximum performance with minimum stress-breakout when cleaved, connectorised or polished.

The HiBi Polarization Maintaining Fiber range:

HB Bend-Insensitive PM Fiber

125/250 µm, bend-insensitive fiber for sensor and research applications between 488 nm and 1550 nm

HB-P - Polyimide Coated Fiber

125/155 µm, high-temperature polyimide-coated for embedded sensor and medical applications at 800 nm, 1300 nm and 1550 nm

HB-G - Reduced-Clad PM Fiber

80/170 µm, broad-temperature range of fiber for Fiber Optic Gyro applications at 800 nm, 1300 nm or 1550 nm

HB-T - Splice-Compatible PM Fiber

125/245µm or 125/400 µm, 9 µm (nominal) MFD fiber for telecommunications and EDFA applications at wavelengths between 980 nm and 1550 nm

HB-C - 80µm Coupler Fiber

80/170 µm low loss, high PER fiber for fused taper coupler devices at 830 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths

HB-Z Zing™ Fiber

125/245 µm polarizing fiber for use at ~ 1064 nm
