HS Series and FAC Fiber Cleavers

  • Typical Cleave Angle of 0.40°
  • High Precision Cleaving
  • Cleaves Singlemode and PM Optical Fiber
  • Suitable for 80 µm and 125 µm Fiber

Whether you are preparing fibers for fusion splicing, QA measurements or experimentation, the HS series of cleavers will give you a perfect, mirror-smooth cleave - good splices and consistent measurements, everytime. Precision cleaving could not be simpler - load the fiber in, then press. No more complex sequences, clamps, tensioners, batteries or slides - just two simple steps, just like a stapler.

Every Fibercore HS cleaver has a built-in scale for accurate measurement of cleave lengths, a multi-position diamond blade for long-life operation and comes complete with a rugged travel case.

In addition, we now offer the new FAC-08 cleaver, primarily designed for use in field applications to provide a low-reflection termination for inserting into the back of pre-polished angled connectors for field mechanical splices.  It is designed to eliminate the need for fusion splicing and angle cleaves 125 µm fiber to give back-reflection of -60 dB. With a single ‘stapler-like’ action and a 10 position diamond blade for extended tool life, this rugged cleaver allows operation in all environments.
