Detailed printouts of refractive index profile, fiber and coating geometry and concentricity errors, high-resolution spectral attenuation scans etc. are invaluable in tracing the root cause of many fiber system problems. All test and measurement equipment is maintained and calibrated in full accordance with the International Standard ISO 10012-1 (BS5781) and all work is carried-out and reported according to the strict guidelines laid down by Fibercore Limited’s BS EN ISO9001 (1994) Quality System.

Special fibers demand special equipment and special skills – with Fibercore Limited’s fusion splicing service, you get access to both. PM splices may be aligned at zero, or 45° and mode-field expansion techniques are employed for rare-earth doped fibers to minimise both loss and back-reflection.

Alternatively, you may have access to your own fiber drawing and specialised coating facilities. In these cases, preforms to generate either standard (HB, SM or DF) or custom fibers are available. Each Fibercore Limited preform is supplied complete with certificated fiber from a test draw and critical tower and furnace set-up parameters.
